The ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø Department of Sociology participated in the 12th Annual Undergraduate Sociology Conference, on April 13 and 14, at Western Colorado State University in Gunnison, Colo. The event began with a keynote address by Dr. Joel Best, professor of sociology and criminal justice at the University of Delaware, entitled "Facts, Fake, and Other F-Words: Critical Thinking in Contentious Times."
³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø from Western Colorado State University, Fort Lewis College, and ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø presented research. Three ASU sociology seniors gave power point presentations of their semester research projects. Marisol Cristobal-Lucas presented "Hispanic/Latino Views on Undocumented/Illegal Immigration." Jessica Fritz and Mayra Garcia presented "ASU ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø’ Attitudes and Behaviors about Contraception."
The conference concluded with students and faculty engaged in stimulating discussions about the sociological implications of the many, varied research projects.
