The ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø Office of Student Life created a Food Pantry to help meet the needs of students. According to Aaron Miltenberger, director of Student Life, a food insecurity study was conducted about 18 months ago and results indicated a significant number of students often make a choice between a necessary cost or eating.

In conjunction with the Annual La Puente sponsored HOPE Week, the ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø State food pantry will celebrate a grand opening from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25. The food pantry is located in the Student Life Center, on the north end of the Student Union Building. The event is free and open to the community.

The ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø State Food Pantry partners with the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley and Care and Share, located in Colorado Springs.
