The ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø Co-Curricular Recreation and Engagement Office (CoRE) Cultural Awareness and Student Achievement (CASA) Center exposed Alamosa Elementary first-grade students to a variety of activities highlighting Hispanic Heritage and science on October 16.

³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø from CoRE CASA introduced the AES students to tortilla making, weaving, making horno smachos (s’more nachos) and Día de los Muertos altar history. The elementary students also toured the on-sight sheepherder’s trailer and participated in a hands-on liquid nitrogen ice cream making activity with the ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø Atoms (chemistry club) students.
