Impassioned individuals show support through action
³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø faculty, staff, and students were joined by community members to show support for the institution and President Beverlee J. McClure. Beginning at the Nielsen Library and walking down the main sidewalk to Richardson Hall, the participants carried signs and chanted "Standing Strong for ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø State."

Once arriving in front of Richardson Hall, the campus’ oldest structure, five individuals voiced their support and dedication to ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø State. Dr. Lillian Gomez, Title V director; Dr. John Taylor, professor of theatre; Dr. Leslie Alvarez, associate professor of psychology; Dr. Robert Benson, professor of earth sciences and the faculty trustee for the ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø State Board of Trustees; and Dr. Ed Crowther, professor of history, chair of the History, Anthropology, Philosophy, Political Science, and Spanish Department and chair of the Teacher Education Department, rallied the audience.
Dr. Lea Ann "Beez" Schell, Human Performance and Physical Education chair and professor, organized the rally.
The idea for "Standing Strong for ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø State," was a continuation of the Theatre Program Standing Strong: The ASU Equality Project, which took place last fall. Initiated by Taylor, Standing Strong celebrated efforts to create a more inclusive society by dismantling barriers to equality.
