Alamosa Mayor Ty Coleman, Vice President for Student Services Ken Marquez, President Cheryl Lovell, ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø State Police Chief Erika Derouin, ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø State Police Officer Nathanial Rael, and Sergeant Ryan Black, Rio Grande County Sheriff’s Office, attended the ceremony.
³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø Police Chief Erika Derouin was sworn in on Friday, April 19, by President Cheryl Lovell and Vice President for Student Services Ken Marquez. Derouin is the first female to serve as ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø State’s Chief of Police. She began working in the ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø State Police Department in 2015. She has been a police officer for almost 20 years, including serving in New York for 12 years as an officer, a detective, and acting supervisor and serving 3 years in the State of Florida as an officer.
